Heirloom Blenheim apricots have the best flavor of all apricot varieties. However, due to their soft skins and propensity to bruise easily, they are highly perishable and not available commercially fresh. However, Blenheims are used for dried apricots. We picked the apricots at the famous B&R Farm in Hollister — an old family owned farm renowned for their apricots. The apricots are immediately processed into preserves within hours of picking. Cooking in small batches helps to maintain the luscious flavor and color of the fruit. We think of these preserves as a jar of California sunshine!
Use apricot preserves on toast, biscuits, scones, waffles, pancakes, or as a delicious cake filling.
